Course need-to-knows

COURSE LENGTH

We advise allowing roughly 4 to 5 hours for both course education and testing. Licence testing is done at the end of the course and students are free to leave after completing the testing.

There will be a break roughly midway through the course for refreshments, toilets etc.

MINIMUM AGES

Persons 12 and up are able to obtain a NSW boat and PWC licence. Those 16+ years old qualify for the ‘full’ adult licence, whilst those under 16 qualify for a Young Adults licence.

The process to get a licence is the same regardless of age.

IDENTIFICATION

All students must provide adequate Proof Of Identity (POI) to sit this course and obtain a licence. Generally speaking, a NSW photo drivers’ licence is good for adults (16+), whilst a Aus birth certificate is good for kids (<16).

Providing correct POI is important. Click here for more info.

YOUNG ADULTS (KIDS <16)

Students under 16 years of age must themselves provide adequate ID, and ALSO have their mother/father present at commencement of the course to complete the licence application paperwork. The parent must also have adequate ID.

Only the child’s direct parent can sign them in; no one else.
